A recent example of this is our project for Debadkamer.nl, where we are using a game changer: the print robot. This technology elevates the construction process to a higher level by saving time and reducing the margin of error. How does it work? The print robot reads a 3D scan of the space and translates it super quickly into an exact drawing on the floor. The result: precise measurements and durability, so there’s no worry that the lines will fade when walked over. Smart, right?
What is a print robot?
A print robot, or layout printer, is a high-tech gadget that operates based on an accurate 3D scan. The space is first measured with a NavVis VLX mobile scanner. The print robot then translates the digital drawing to the construction floor, making all key points—like where the walls and outlets will go—clearly visible.
This means that the digital design seamlessly transitions into the physical execution, without the need to mess around with paper drawings or measuring tapes. The robot’s precision ensures that everything is spot on to the millimeter, saving not just time but also a lot of hassle!
